Agriculture continues to play a major role in the
economy of Tehama County. It is for this reason that the Dairyville Community Club, Inc. has made a commitment to assist college
students who are majoring in the field of agriculture. In keeping with this commitment, the Dairyville Community Club, Inc.
is pleased to announce its newly expanded Agricultural Studies Scholarship opportunities for 2010. $14,000 in funds has been
made available for scholarships this year, and all qualified students are encouraged to apply.
The Agricultural
Studies Scholarships are divided into two categories, Upper-division and Graduate. Upper-division scholarships will be awarded
to college sophomores and juniors who are currently majoring in agriculture. Beginning this year, the scholarship program
has been expanded to include students pursuing a graduate degree in agriculture. To be eligible for either of these scholarship
programs, the applicants must be a past graduate of a Tehama County high school. All scholarship funds that are awarded will
be made available for use during the 2010/2011 academic school year. In order to be considered, students must take at least
12 units of courses each semester. The applications will be judged on completeness, neatness, academic achievement, letters
of recommendation, community involvement, work experience, area of study, and career goals.
All of the following items must be received by the Dairyville Community Club, Inc. Scholarship Committee
postmarked on or before the April 1, 2010 deadline for consideration:
1. The two page Upper-Division Agricultural Studies Scholarship Application
2. A copy of your college transcripts indicating
all college work completed to date and a current course of study.

the other should be from someone that is not a family member. These recommendations can be submitted with the other application
materials or can be mailed directly to the committee by the person making the recommendation, but either way, they must be
postmarked on or before the April 1, 2010 deadline.
4. A one page essay which includes the following:
A. Autobiography
B. Your career plans following graduation
5. An essay, up to two pages in length, which
